Join faith leaders
from across Arizona to learn about faith-based, statewide initiatives to
successfully unite congregations with children living in group care facilities who may ‘age out’ of
foster care. “150 Ways to Connect” will offer information on group care
settings, operational statewide program models, a day-long resource expo
and significant networking opportunities. Keynote presentation by Jannah Scott, policy advisor on Faith and Community Initiatives for Governor Janet Napolitano Breakout sessions featuring representatives from shelters, group homes and behavioral group homes across Arizona to discuss the needs of the children in their care. Lunchtime presentation by foster care alumni Regeanna Mwansa, youth development program administrator for Governor Janet Napolitano.Youth panel featuring current youth in care and foster care alumni. Panel presentation by representatives from programs across the state that currently work with children in group care, moderated by Gary Webb, president of Off Campus Jams. Faith leaders and their representatives are invited to attend at NO CHARGE. Pre registration for all others is $15 by October 15; $20 after October 15 and for walk-in registration. Scholarships are available. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Seating is limited. Resource EXPO opportunities are available for those who provide services to children in group care.
